I made the switch! - Natural Makeup

So...I finally did it!!! I cleared out my makeup cupboard and made the switch! I took everything with parabynes in it and stitch it out with natural makeup. I had been meaning to do this for months, because I knew that parabynes were a synthetic chemical that can tamper with hormones.

As a woman, I have no need to to have more hormonal problems!

So, I will give you my thoughts on each of these products.

Gabriel Moisturizing Liquid Foundation:
This is one of the lightest shades that Gabriel sells in the liquid foundation, but it matches my fairer skin perfectly. It goes on smooth and dries in a beautiful matte finish. It gives me a medium coverage that works well with my complexion. I would recommend this makeup to anyone who is looking for a medium coverage foundation free of parabynes and good for sensitive skin.

Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation:
I have grown to love this simple pressed powder. It goes on like silk and leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh. If I don't have time to do my full makeup routine, I will us this as my coverage foundation and go. It makes things easy and fast. I would also recommend this product to anyone who likes a smooth powder foundation that provides a medium coverage when applied with a thick powder brush.

Mineral Fusion Two Tone Concealer:
This two tone mineral concealer is thick but goes on for a professional blemish "concealer". The lighter of the two colors works awesome on red blotches, pimples, and under eye circles. This is THE BEST concealer I have used to date! I apply with a small brush and smooth in.

Well, there it is. I'll tell you my routine so you can have an idea of what I do when I go out. On a regular basis, I usually apply the concealer with a small brush. Then I take a large powder brush smooth the pressed powder foundation over my cheeks, chin, temples and forehead. After this I usually apply mascara if it is a day when I feel like wearing it. On a special occasion I will usually apply the liquid foundation after the concealer and then brush over it with pressed powder. I also will wear earth tone eyeshadow with a little bit of light shimmer.

So there you have it! My new makeup and my simple and easy routine.

Let us give thanks

I pray that the Lord gives you the eyes to see all the blessings He has poured out upon you throughout the years. May He also give you a mouth that gives thanks for everything. May He give you ears to hear the whispers of His love and goodness.

In this time, please don't forget our Lord. Don't forget the great kindness that He has shown.

Even amidst all the talk of turkey, mashed potatoes and yummy Thanksgiving foods...please remember. Look back to the cross and remember the sacrifice. Remember the blood that has been shed. Remember the mercy and redemption that now covers you. Don't ever forget.

Give thanks this season to the One who has given the greatest gift of all. His life.

Who ate the bananas?

We have a mystery on our hands...

Last night there were two very ripe bananas set out on the counter awaiting their death to banana bread.

When dawn broke they had disappeared. Almost completely.

No trace except for these...

I had to scratch my head, but only for a moment.

I was looking in another direction.

I believe I was looking at the guilty suspect...

Yeah. I was definitely looking at the suspect. But was I looking at the guilty?

...I think so...

This little lady has a track record. She's got dirt on her file.

We have evidence of previous mischief.

DD stands for dumpster diver

I believe the story is pretty black and white.

There were two bananas...there are no longer two bananas...there are only remnants on the living room carpet...and there is a guilty dog peering out from the depths of her kennel at me.

One question plagues me and my husband...

What dog eats a whole banana?!?!?!

Phoebe. She is a dog with secrets. I can't really say a lot more than that!

I shall never have absolute proof as to the guilty in this case...

...but I am definitely leaning in one direction.

Yes, Phoebe, I am talking about you.

Case closed.

Thunderstorms

A storm passed through last night. The winds were strong and the rain came down rather heavily. The thunder periodically interrupted the sound of the rain next to our bedroom window. The lightning flashed every so often reminding me of how awesome God is.
The sound of the wind and rain often lulls me to sleep, which I love. I have always been a fan of thunderstorms. My dad and mom would make sure that the four of "us kids" were not afraid of them. We would all troop out onto the front porch of our old farmhouse and watch the beauty of the lightning and the power of the thunder. my parents would talk about the might of God and the amazing power He created when I formed the elements.

I guess I mainly write this to tell you about my love for the beauty and power of God's creation and for the teaching that my parent gave me while I was under their roof. They were always intentional about the way they taught my siblings and I. They wanted us to have a healthy fear of God and also a respect for His amazing creation. When I say, "healthy fear", I'm not saying they tried to scare it into us! They brought God's word to the table and lead us in truth and hope in Christ.

Blessings,
Rachel
